New Location in Oerlikon
ZIO Opens Its Sixth Location
September 15, 2026, is the big day: Right next to the Oerlikon train station, at Hofwiesenstrasse 350, ZIO will open its sixth location—impressive proof of the high demand for personalized, patient-centered services in the field of cancer treatment. The new location offers patients many benefits, says Dr. Boris Hübenthal, who will serve as the site director in Oerlikon. An open house for all interested parties is scheduled for October 31, 2026.
Dr. Hübenthal, what added value does the new location offer patients?
The ZIO Oerlikon is located right next to the train station, making it very easy to reach. Demand for our services has risen sharply in recent years, so we’re pleased to continue offering our patients quick and easy access, thanks in part to this new location. The office space is beautiful; it’s located on the 11th floor and offers a great view of the city of Zurich and the surrounding countryside. The facilities at the new location are first-class—it’s a place where people enjoy spending time. We’re very excited to be working here.
What will be offered at ZIO Oerlikon in the future?
We also offer the full range of ZIO treatments at our new location in Oerlikon. All key therapeutic options in complementary and integrative medicine are integrated into the treatment plans for hematology, oncology, and palliative care. In addition, psycho-oncological counseling and nutritional counseling services are being established in Oerlikon as well. We will offer oncological exercise therapy in collaboration with the ZIO in Zurich. Here in Oerlikon, we have an excellent network of partners, which is crucial for integrated outpatient care and offers our patients many benefits.
What are those advantages?
For example, we share the 11th floor with the Curana Medical Center, which operates a PET/CT scanner that we can use for imaging our patients. The fact that state-of-the-art diagnostics and integrative therapy are so closely integrated and readily available to patients is truly unique. There is also a large on-call clinic and many specialist practices near the Oerlikon train station, which likewise enables synergies in patient care.
What steps should patients take if they want to transfer to ZIO Oerlikon?
Patients currently receiving treatment at the Zurich, Winterthur, Richterswil, Uster, or Glarus locations who would like to transfer to ZIO Oerlikon can contact us by email (terminierung@zio.ch) Please contact our patient administration office.
You yourself are moving from the Zurich location to Oerlikon and will take over as site director. How does that fit in with your role as chief medical officer of the ZIO?
I’m really looking forward to getting started at the new center in Oerlikon. With the support of our network—and especially the excellent team of doctors at ZIO—I’m confident that I’ll be able to fulfill my responsibilities as Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director. Oerlikon is very centrally located, and all ZIO locations are easily accessible.
