Acupuncture / TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)

2000 years of empirical medicine of Far Eastern origin

As part of holistic cancer treatment, acupuncture / TCM is a complementary and effective form of therapy that can make conventional cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, with all their accompanying symptoms and side effects, more tolerable. The focus here is on the quality of life of the affected patients, which should be maintained, stabilized or improved as far as possible according to traditional Chinese healing methods. In TCM, illness or discomfort is seen as an imbalance of energy in the body that needs to be balanced. Symptoms such as tiredness, pain, loss of appetite and sleep disorders can be treated with appropriate needle techniques.

These therapies can be used during our patients' stay in the outpatient clinic or day clinic.

After a detailed medical history has been taken by an experienced doctor of acupuncture / TCM, an individual treatment strategy is drawn up according to the criteria of traditional Chinese medicine and treated at different time intervals. As every patient can have an individual reaction to conventional therapy, treatment with acupuncture / TCM also varies from patient to patient.
An important aspect of Chinese medicine is the strengthening of self-healing powers using acupuncture needles by activating energetically active acupuncture points. According to current knowledge, acupuncture needles can trigger immunomodulating effects that support the body in coping with disease processes. Among other things, the management of chronic pain is an important medical indication for acupuncture.
In addition, herbal remedies, moxibustion (local heat therapy at the acupuncture point) and dietary suggestions according to TCM criteria are also used therapeutically for our patients as required. A synergistic application of acupuncture / TCM alongside conventional cancer therapy and other complementary forms of treatment makes perfect sense if the patient's condition requires it.

Today, acupuncture / TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine is an integral part of our healthcare system.
