Short interview with Dr. Bühlmann

«Whether in drug treatment, surgery, radiotherapy or aftercare - many things are done differently today and adapted to the disease situation.»

Dr. Bühlmann, who is the information event on 15 January 2026 aimed at?
We are addressing the population in the Zurich Oberland region. With this information event, we would like to show that we can offer everything that is part of modern breast cancer treatment in the region.

What exactly do you offer at the ZIO?
At the ZIO, we offer all forms of drug therapy such as chemotherapy, antibody therapy or hormone therapy. We also take care of all kinds of investigations and comprehensive care during treatment and aftercare for patients with breast cancer. The Women's Clinic at Uster Hospital takes care of diagnostics and surgical treatment. With the Center for Radiooncology (ZRR) in Rüti, radiotherapy can also be carried out close to home. There is good and active cooperation between the various centers.

The event is explicitly about «modern» breast cancer therapy. What does this term mean?
Many things are done differently today than in the past. Over the last 30 years, a great deal has changed for the better for patients in cancer therapy - and we would like to tell you about it.

Can you give an example?
The prognosis for early detection of breast cancer is much better today than it used to be due to the enormous increase in understanding of this disease. For example, surgery is much more gentle and the removal of the entire breast, which used to be standard, is now much less necessary. Progress has been made in all areas of breast cancer treatment. We would like to explain this to visitors.

Can participants also ask questions?
Of course, we have planned time for a Q&A session. And of course, all speakers will be happy to answer individual questions from the audience.
