At the beginning of May, the Centre for Integrative Oncology in Richterswil moved into its completely renovated and modernized oncology day clinic. The ambitious renovation schedule was met despite the coronavirus pandemic.
|
The wide view of the lake and mountains has been retained, while more space, air and light have been created for patients and staff in the new and friendly treatment rooms in contemporary architecture on the top floor of the Paracelsus Hospital.

Covid-19 and integrative oncology
"Fortunately, we have come through the crisis very well so far"

Nobody has to go without treatment at the ZIO during the Covid-19 pandemic. The specialists are still there for patients. Fortunately, the ZIO has come through the "hot phase" in Switzerland in good shape. "None of our patients or employees have been infected with Covid-19," says Dr. Boris Hübenthal, doctor and head of the ZIO Zurich. The relief is great. Also about the fact that all services were and are always available. "With our services, we want to strengthen patients' resources. This is more important today than ever," says Hübenthal. It is now crucial to comply with the current protective measures and return to normality at the same time. After all, it is particularly important for cancer patients to be able to live a largely normal everyday life. "We want to encourage and support this."

New appointment at ZIO Glarus

We would like to inform you that Prof. Kaspar Rhyner has to give up his medical practice with immediate effect for health reasons. The ZIO was allowed to take over his practice in October 2015 and was very strongly supported by him in the development of the Glarus site. He is a luminary far beyond the Glarus region and will be greatly missed as a person and doctor.

Since the beginning of the year, another doctor, Dr. Madina Weiss, has joined our team of doctors, contributing her extensive experience in the treatment of oncological and haematological patients as well as her knowledge of integrative medicine with further training in homeopathy, acupuncture and interdisciplinary pain therapy.
All patients referred to us and treated by Prof. Kaspar Rhyner will of course continue to receive medical-oncological, hematological and integrative care at their request. We have contacted the patients concerned and informed them.
