Keeping your hair - despite chemotherapy

zio-newsletter-01
If you have to undergo chemotherapy, you may lose all your hair. This may seem like a relatively "minor" problem at first glance. But those who experience such a phase often report great restrictions and suffering. At the Center for Integrative Oncology ZIO, patients undergoing chemotherapy can have their scalp cooled during the infusion to prevent hair loss. According to studies, this accompanying therapy is successful in about every second case. Dr. Boris Hübenthal observes an even slightly higher success rate at the ZIO. Women with breast cancer or gynecological tumors in particular, but also men with cancer, take advantage of the offer and the majority are enthusiastic about the procedure. Their quality of life is much less restricted thanks to hair preservation during chemotherapy. The procedure has hardly any side effects and can be carried out at the ZIO at no extra cost to patients during the usual treatment period.
